Half-dwarf, half-human Oathsworn, member of Wyvern Division.
Background
Born beneath a mountain to a dwarven smith and a human explorer, Vorik belonged fully to neither people — too tall and too soft-hearted for the halls below, too broad and too silent for the world above. He grew up stronger than anyone his age but never graceful: heavy, deliberate, impossible to hide. His father’s words stayed with him — “Steel remembers every strike that shapes it. So do people.”
When the Great Frost came, refugees begged at the gates of his hold and the elders kept them shut. By dawn, dozens lay frozen yards from safety. That day Vorik swore an oath that no innocent would be abandoned while he still drew breath, and left the mountain with only his father’s forge hammer and a weathered shield. He wandered the frozen world escorting caravans, digging survivors from collapsed mines, and standing against raiders and beasts. People began calling him Snowrend — his hammer, they said, split ice and monsters alike.
Belonging to no people, he chose instead to claim those the world forgot: miners, orphans, refugees, and workers whose hope had nearly frozen away. That reputation eventually brought him to Hearth, where the Frostwatch knew him as an on-demand hero long before he wore a crest. In Year 10, Governor Luthor Shrike swore him into the newly rebooted Relic Hunters Guild as one of the founding members of Wyvern Division. On his first hunt he cut down a pack of Gnashers alongside fellow Hunter Sid to recover a flame-touched relic sword for the Engine.
