This page covers the technical side of character creation. Use it alongside Thinking Up Your Character - have both open as you build.
Step 1 - Join the Discord
The Discord is your first stop. Session scheduling, between-session questions, and the important-links channel (Nimbound, Inventory Manager, and the Wiki all pinned there).

Build your character at Nimbound — the digital character sheet platform for this campaign.
You have four things to pick to make your character:
- Ancestry - Browse ancestries here
- Class - Browse classes here
- Background - Browse backgrounds here
- Stats - STR, DEX, INT, WIL, using your preferred stat array.
Once your Nimbound sheet is complete, move on to Step 3.
Step 3 - Initialize Your Inventory
Your inventory lives in the Frostpunk Inventory Manager, not Nimbound. Here’s how to set it up:
- Go to frostpunk.lovable.app and log in with your Discord account.
- Add a row for each item in your Nimbound starting inventory, transferring it over one by one.
From this point on, the Inventory Manager is your source of truth for everything you’re carrying. Nimbound is still useful for your stats, abilities, and class features - but inventory lives in the app.
Inventory Slots
You have 10 + STR modifier inventory slots. Guild Vault storage is unlimited!
Step 4 - Answer the GM’s Questions
Head to Thinking Up Your Character and fill out the backstory questions if you haven’t already. Sean needs these before Session 1.
Once you’ve had a think, message Sean directly on Discord to talk through your character - feel free to spam if needed, I want to hear it all!!!
Leveling Up
This campaign uses milestone leveling. Your entire Division levels up together - there is no individual XP. I will announce when a milestone is reached.
Starting level: All new characters begin at Level 1 as Guild recruits. Upon completing your first proving period and becoming a full-fledged Guild member, you advance to Level 2. From there, milestones are tied to campaign events the GM tracks, and your Division levels up all together!
